What: The Northwest Ride of Dreams for Special Olympics Washington is a statewide fundraising effort organized by local law enforcement agencies throughout the state.
This fundraising event for Special Olympics is a procession of motorcycles followed by a festival-type celebration to include a classic car show. Motorcycles will stage at several primary starting points throughout the state. At the end of the procession, a festival will be hosted where participants may interact with each other and have fun. The festival will include vendors, food, entertainment, a Special Olympics induction ceremony, raffles, and family friendly activities for all. All registered participants will receive a goody bag and 2010 Northwest Ride of Dreams t-shirt.
Where: There will be five primary starting points: Marysville, Seattle, Centralia, Kennewick and Spokane. Riders will take off at their respective starting points and culminate at the final destination at the West Ellensburg/Rotary Park in Ellensburg, where participants will be welcomed by local Special Olympics athletes and families.
How: Each motorcycle/classic
car or non-riding participant must raise a minimum of $30.00 to participate
to receive an official event t-shirt and goody bag. Collect pledges from family,
friends and colleagues and win prizes. Individuals and groups may register
online at: www.nwrideofdreams.org.
Don’t ride a motorcycle or own a classic car? Cheer on from the sidelines
at one of the starting points or attend the post-ride festivities. Non-riders
can still raise money, win prizes and make a difference in the lives of local
athletes.
Why: All proceeds collected by participants benefit the Special Olympics Washington program in their local areas and will help further the Special Olympics Washington Mission.
